This Foundation Construction Award (FCA) is designed as an introduction to the practical skills and knowledge needed for plastering.

The course will be assessed with a mix of practical and theory assessment throughout the course culminating in an online exam to test knowledge.

Areas of study will include: solid plastering ie rendering, skimming, screeding and decorative plasterwork.

This course requires no formal qualifications but an interest in construction is essential.

You will be asked to carry out a skills assessment to determine the support you require to be successful on your course.

Students can look to progress onto a Level 2 course or seek a career in industry.

  • FCA 198 Handle and Store Resources
  • FCA 199 Contribute to Work Relationships
  • FCA 200 Contribute to Providing Working Platforms
  • FCA 210 Prepare Materials for Use (Plastering)
  • FCA 211 Prepare Background Surfaces to Receive Materials
  • FCA 212 Cut Components to Required Dimensions

This 30 day qualification course provides a progression route to achieving a relevant Construction NVQ at Level 1.
